Our New Home

After moving the business to The Byre we had a clear home for the first time in 3 years! It was amazing and life seemed to become more organised along side the business.

The very last day which we moved the stock in we sat down for a cup of tea in our lovely new premises (Minus heating, surrounded by snow with no chairs or office furniture)

I turned to Mike and said "I'm so happy with the new premises and it will be lovely to enjoy our home with no boxes of stock piling up in the lounge, kitchen, bedroom.. I hope that we won't have to move home any time soon!"

We returned the van we had rented and traveled home exhausted.
The next day at 9am we had a phone call from the estate agents letting us know that the house which we rented (our home) was going to be for sale and we had roughly 6 weeks to move home.
I could not believe it! However there was no escaping the fact that we needed to find a new home, very fast.

We searched and searched and searched and searched, and then one chilly afternoon as I was replying to emails the most unique property popped up on Mikes computer.

We booked a viewing and within 48 hours we had managed to secure a beautiful converted stable block as our new home.

We moved in 3 weeks ago and we are absolutely in love the space and light, not to mention the wonderful features.
The property is perfect for us and we couldn't be happier.

I've posted some pictures below, the stable block still remains in the property and it really is a lovely space to live in.

Someone was not too happy about the move however...

Millie spent the first 2 days hiding in the wardrobe and then made it to a new base under the bed where she stayed for another day.

Of course after this shy start she soon began exploring.
She now LOVES the long corridor and runs and slides up and down daily.

We've just been included in the Not On The High Street Summer catalogue which landed on doorsteps this Monday.

It's going to be a busy few weeks of personalising and I'm also finalising Christmas designs and Trade products.

However knowing that we now have a peaceful, beautiful home to return to really is the icing on the cake!

We've just returned from Make Do Meet, Not On The High Street's annual event in London and I'll be sure to share pictures from the event soon,

Best Wishes

A Weekend Away in Yorkshire

After a busy day of deliveries on Friday we packed up and headed off to Yorkshire for the weekend.

We were greeted by blue skies and wonderful views.

Between lamb spotting on the journey and celebratory meals with family we visited Bolton Abbey.

I've posted a picture below of a money tree we found on one of the walks.

It was a lovely weekend break and I'm happy that we have returned to some absolutely beautiful weather.

Somehow we managed to squeeze in a photo shoot last night!

Also I believe that the total number of the new gift wraps launching soon is roughly at 18 different colour ways! We can't wait to share them soon. Some will be here in time for summer, others will be launched for Winter.
So we have a couple of busy days at the premises packing Trade orders and personalising gifts before we pack up our home and move house!

Excuse the blurry picture, I'm sure i'll share some more once we are moved in.

Wishing You A Happy Easter!

The sun is shining here at the Barn and the birds are singing!

After a busy couple of months we are looking forward a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Hopefully the sunshine will stay with us for a while..!

We have now settled into the barn. There are still lots of painting and fixing up jobs to do! But it's much simpler to manage deliveries and packing with more space.

Everything seems to have found a new home in the barn, from scissors to stock!

There are little splashes of colour throughout.

And the little touches make all the difference!

I especially love these colourful coat hooks from Cath Kidston

And these sweet coloured hooks from Little Baby Company

We've now packed up all of our Easter orders and we think it's time for us all to enjoy some Easter chocolate!

A little bit of relaxing..

And I can't resist a little planning for new products! (both Personalised and Wholesale)

HAPPY EASTER!

Painting & Packing

It was another chilly start to the day this morning as we continued work at the barn!

We had a lovely delivery of these antique creates which I have had on my wish list for a while now.

Once all of our shelving units are painted we will be adding casters to the bottom of each crate. They will form beautiful storage under the units.

Until then we have over 50 more shelves to paint! (A mixture of white washed paint and a beautiful grey/blue paint.)

Time flew by and before we knew it, it was time to pack up and return back to our current studio to pack up today's orders.

We have had a few more trade orders heading out today and also all of these mugs are off to new homes tonight to keep our customers cosy during this cold weather!

The Byre

We are in and we have started work on the barn!

It began snowing just as soon as we got there early this morning, but we made the decision to stay and crack on with getting as much sorted as we could at the risk of getting snowed in!

There is a lot to do, so I am pleased that we have made a start today. The building is just over 24 Metres long and we have lots of plans, including an office area, packing table, stock area and a lasercutting area too!

We will be working all sorts of strange hours this week as we are continuing to pack orders and we are extra busy shipping trade orders out at the moment.

I wanted to share a couple of quick snaps here. Here is the new view from my desk!

So, plenty of tea for us over the next 7 days, cosy painting clothes and of course adding the fun decorative bits and pieces at the end!

A Very Exciting Weekend.

It's been a busy weekend here at Sophia Victoria Joy!

If you know me, you will know that I love snowy weather.

To top off this amazing snowy weekend I am over the moon to announce that we now have the keys to our new premises.

We braved the snow on Sunday morning and made our way across to the beautiful market town of Alresford to pick up our keys!

It's all ours! After weeks of waiting we can begin to move in and I can't wait!
I'll be sharing pictures as we organise the interior over the next week or two.

We also made time this weekend for some beautiful snowy walks!

Winchester Cathedral grounds were as beautiful as ever.

We even spotted an igloo being built!

As Millie finds new ways to keep extra warm throughout this cold snap we pull up our extra thick long socks and get packing posting and sorting out our new premises!

We think we will be keeping our wellies handy for a few more days!

And also a fair few cups of tea too!

Wishing you a great week! Keep Warm!
